This intensive exam preparation course is designed to help Pre-Intermediate – Upper-Intermediate students gain a thorough understanding of the four parts of the IELTS examination. Students learn important exam strategies and skills which are needed to achieve the minimum scores required for entry into Australian vocational and university courses.
Students will achieve this by completing a wide range of classroom activities specifically designed to develop the skills required for the IELTS exam. Students will also sit for 6 complete practice exams during the Pre-Intermediate component of this course, and 8 complete practice exams for each of the Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate components, which will help them hone their exam taking skills, and allow them to become familiar with the exam’s format. Finally, the course is theme based so students are able to prepare for the exam while studying a range of stimulating topics.
The Examination Preparation Course: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a 36 week program, 12 weeks each for Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate. Students have two contact hour study options. They may choose to enrol in the 20 student-teacher contact hours a week (4 hours a day) course or the more intensive 25 student-teacher contact hours a week (5 hours a day) course. Students who enrol in the 25 hours a week course are able to do intensive skills practice which focuses on the areas in which students most need improvement. A course overview is provided below:
